The Albanian verb is arguably the most difficult part of the language to master for foreign students. Until now, a practical, clear, and succinct explanation of verbs in Albanian hasn't existed. Books already in existence were far too complicated for the average language learner, or had no practical features, such as tables and especially exercises.
The aim, then, of this book is to fill the gap and provide students and language researchers with such a book, at once useful as well as easy to understand.Part One deals with all particular features of verbs in Albanian.
Part Two goes into more detail regarding Albanian verbal conjugation patterns. In addition, you will find a list of the most common Albanian verbs and 101 verb patterns.Part Three includes a list of verbs with reference to their group classification, and referred to verb pattern number.
Part Four consists of Exercises for the language student; the Answers to which are in Part Five.This book is, to some degree, a continuation and an integral part of the text-book "Let's Learn Albanian" (A Modern Reference Grammar for Students), printed by "Pegi", 2005, Tirana/Albania, which we recommend as a text-book for self-study of Albanian.
Again, we express our wish that this book might be a useful tool for all who are learning Albanian, and especially, for those who think that the Albanian verbs seem "Greek".This book is not error-free, and we take the responsibility for all errors.
