Dr. Faruk Borova, former ambasador of Albania to Egypt and the Middle East and currently, President of AIITC Board, published in 2010 the book "The albanian ruling dynasty in Egypt 1805 – 1952", which focuses on the dynasty of Mohammed Ali Pasha who governed Egypt and the surrounding areas for 147 years.
In the arab modern histori, the ascension to poker of Mohammed Ali Pasha marks the beginning og the so – called "Al – Nahda al – Arabiyya" – the Arab Renaissance. Therefore, the historic role played by Mohammed Ali Pasha and his dynasty has been subjekt to a large number of studies not only by Arab, but also by Western historians and scholars.
The role played by this Dynasty has been important not only for the Arab, but also for the Albanian world. It is well known that Missir, the name by which it was known then in Albania, was a second motherland to many Albanians who settled there either for economic or political reasons, establishing thus one of the Albanian colonies that made an essential contribution to the nacional Renaissance of the Albanians.
Quite paradoxically, the figure of Mohammed Ali Pasha and his Dynasty has remained up to this day relatively unknown in his native countryl. Except the book written on this subjekt by Alexander Xhuvani and a few articles, very little is known abort them in their country of origin. Consequently, the importance of this book is quite relevant, since it represents the Albanian perspektive on this dynasty.
