Over the book

The beginning of the 20th century embraces years which hole within themselves events that encompassed epochs, shaped borders, established status and shaped the end of the Albanian National Renaissance. On the brink of the 1900's Albanians within a very short time lived four epochs: the Ottoman empire, the Independent State, the Kingdom of Prince Vid, tha chaos of the Balkan wars and the beginning of the First World War.

A century agoi, Albania as separate state was not shown on the map; instead the Albanians lived in four vilayets belonging to the Ottoman Empire. The difficult coexistence within a long occupation produced severe consequences. Even in a small korner of the Supreme Gate territories in the Balkans where Albanian was situate, the population was converted to Islam.
