About the book

Instead of the Platform "Kosova in a Historical Context", is the title of the book edited by Jakup Krasniqi. The book is in two parts: the first deals with historical aspects and the second with current issues. Within its 125 pages, the book raises very important issues for the Kosovo of yesterday and today.

Given their importance for Kosovo it is evident that the issues raised are important for all Albanians, wherever they are. As a politician by profession and also, historian Jakup Krasniqi looks at Kosovo in a way that is inseparable from the historical context. This gives him the possibility of regarding this issue and the current problems that are connected to it, in one side to see them more obviously and in the other to make assertions, with data from the past and present.

History is explained in a way that illuminates the present and makes it more intelligible. I think that some of the subjects chosen for training form the past, and some from the present , are intended as matters that directly or indirectly are palpable to Albanians, Serbs or to the internationals engaged in the discussions about the final status of Kosovo, which will start presently.

Does this mean that Kosovo in a historic context is an extended concept of the platform for the discussions, that should have been done, and about which the opinion should have been informed?
